I don't know about you, but having the kids at home while I try to work and juggle commitments is challenge and one I'll be working to balance in the household.
If the lockdown continues into next week, the school will build on the program that your child's teacher issued today via Class Dojo. You can expect to see more opportunities to interact over Zoom and learning support as teachers and the Department pace themselves based on updated health advice. In the meantime, the school is asking for us to understand that these decisions are being driven by health directives, which is limiting their choices.
During our last lockdown, a number of school community Facebook sites popped up, there were class coordinator organised recess Zooms for kids to catch up informally and some parents amazingly held extra-curricula classes in areas of expertise, such as art. We have an amazing and wonderful community and I'm sure this sort of thing is going to happen again if lockdown goes for a significant period of time. In the meantime, I know that people will be doing their best to support each other.
If access to technology is tricky, the school has laptops to loan.
At the moment, under Stage 4 restrictions, all but a skeleton staff of teachers are permitted at the school to support students who need to be at school.
It's important to remain optimistic about following the health directives and that resulting in restrictions being lifted, but it's also good to know that the school and the Department are onto scoping how they can support students if and when the lockdown is extended beyond these first four days of term.
Here's links to the key education tools to access if you don't already have them loaded:

Class Dojo - for you and your children to interact with teachers, specific learning stage information, and timetables
Department of Education Student Portal - using your student's school email and password to access Google Classroom and the other education links and tools for learning from home.
